York stone was used as the surface for the patio and local bricks were used to create the retaining walls and raised beds.

Oak-timber arbour with seating
Oak timbers were used as the wood for the construction of the arbour, with York stone being laid as the paving for the seating area beneath it.

Colourful planting throughout Summer & Autumn
The planting within curved borders comprised of herbaceous perennials, grasses and flowering shrubs. This planting scheme was planned to bring colour to the garden throughout the summer and autumn.

A central bed was designed to add shape to the
lawn and to enhance the view of the cottage from the seating area.
