Established in 1992 Peter Bird Garden Design has been involved in designing, constructing and planting a variety of gardens, from small town gardens to large country estates, within Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire and North London.
Clients have been mainly private individuals although we have also carried out landscaping projects for housing developers and corporate clients such as Barratt Homes and Ikea.
Having graduating from Massey University in New Zealand with a Horticultural Science degree in 1986, I gathered practical experience working for landscape contracting companies in New Zealand and Australia.
During 1989 I came to England to join a leading garden designer before, in 1992, leaving them to establish my own company in Wendover, Buckinghamshire.
Our practice offers a complete service from initial consultation right through to the construction and planting of your garden.
We work closely with the best landscapers and plant nurseries in your area to ensure your garden is completed to the highest standards and quality.
My design philosophy is one of creating a garden which reflects the client's requirements and personality.
I feel it is also important that as well as linking the house to the garden, the garden is linked to its surroundings, with the plants and materials used, in harmony with the sites character and location.
In 1992 and 1993 I designed two show gardens for the children's medical charity Action Research. These were exhibited at the Hampton Court Flower Show and were both awarded R.H.S Silver medals.
I have also recently exhibited a garden at the Gardeners World Live Show for Action Research and currently have one of my designed gardens in the National Gardens Scheme.
