This large Buckinghamshire country garden within a woodland setting has been designed to incorporate the front and rear gardens.
From the picket gate a brick path leads past cottage garden style planting to a raised terrace by the house, this commands excellent views over the front garden and the garden office.
A solid path runs from the terrace to the back of the house, with a gravel path running from the back door to the garage situated above the dell. Flights of steps built between raised beds, constructed from dry stone walling, provide access from the front lawn to the Summerhouse at the top of the garden. A large vegetable garden and Greenhouse have been positioned between the Summerhouse and the naturally formed Dell.
Within this large country garden a naturally formed Dell had become overgrown, so there was an opportunity to re-develop it and the surrounding area. Entry into the dell was via two flights of steps, one constructed using paving and the other constructed using railway sleepers.
On the left hand side the brick retaining wall was re-built and then softened with planting. At the far end of the dell a large rockery was built into the bank with a stream running through it to a pool. Extensive planting was carried out to soften the rockery and to bring all year round colour and interest.
