With parts of the house dating back 200 years, the owners of this Hertfordshire garden wanted a design to reflect the character and age of the house. As the owner ran his business from the wing of the house that looked across the garden it was important that this had maximum impact.
The formal layout was given structure through the construction of York stone and Cotswold chipping paths, with box hedging giving the garden a traditional feel. Within the box hedges were a combination of old fashioned roses, lavender, rosemary and thyme. To enable clients to enjoy a morning tea or coffee, a small seating area was situated near the back door.
